Founded with Purpose
The Dyslexia Partners Charitable Foundation was established by Janie Harvey, Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT) and Instructor of Therapists, who brings 16 years of experience teaching students in public schools and private practice, and six years of training therapists across Colorado. Janie’s passion is to remove barriers to effective dyslexia services and to bring structured literacy knowledge to families, educators, and communities.
Over years of working with students, guiding educators, and supporting families, Janie witnessed a consistent truth: opportunity too often depends on a family’s financial resources.
This foundation exists to provide financial support where cost has stood in the way of effective dyslexia services.
Why It Matters
Dyslexia is far more common—and more misunderstood—than most people realize.
Dyslexia affects
1 in 5 people.
Dyslexia represents 80–90% of all learning disabilities.
The emotional toll is significant. Children with dyslexia experience higher rates of anxiety, depression, and bullying, and often develop lowered self-esteem from repeated academic struggles.
The consequences of poor literacy extend into adulthood. Studies estimate that 48–52% of incarcerated individuals have dyslexia or significant reading difficulties, and 70% read below a fourth-grade level.
Without proper support, students with dyslexia are at increased risk for academic failure.Students with learning disabilities are three times more likely to drop out of school, and only 68% graduate with a standard diploma.

Investing in educators in low-income school districts through training rooted in the science of reading, to equip them to better serve their struggling readers.
